LSU's Ralston Turner Transferring to Another School

Reporter: AP

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - New LSU coach Johnny Jones says forward Ralston Turner has been granted a release that would allow him to transfer to a school outside the Southeastern Conference if he
chooses to do so.

Jones, who announced the decision to grant Turner's conditional
release on Wednesday, says Turner still could remain at LSU as long
as he assures coaches that he is "100 percent" committed to the
Tigers.

Jones says Turner's request to explore a transfer dated back to last season, when Trent Johnson was LSU's coach.

Turner says in a statement released by LSU that while he plans to explore his options, he is not certain that he will transfer.

Turner, who would be a junior next season, averaged 12.3 points as a freshman and 9.1 points last season.
