Reno Police and Fire Surround Apartment Complex

9:50 PM UPDATE:
Police say the male suspect is being treated for third degree burns at and out of state burn center. He is said to be in critical condition.

One building in the complex was evacuated due to smoke. However, only the couple's apartment was damaged from the flames.

Crews gave aid to a cat with burn marks on its fur. Neighbors say the couple also had a dog that didn't make it out.

The woman, who only suffered minor injuries, is receiving assistance from the Advocates from the Victim Service Unit.

3:30 PM UPDATE:
Police say one male suspect who was severely burned has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

One building of the apartment complex has been evacuated until utilities can be restored to residents.

RENO, Nev. -- Fire and police crews are on the scene of a disturbance at the Riverwood Apartments on the 700 block of Kuenzli in Reno.

One neighbor says a person is inside the burning building and might be setting fires. Whether s/he is setting fire to the structure or to other items is not clear at the time.
