Sparks Police Searching for Missing Mom and Two Children

Sparks Mother and 2 Children Missing

SPARKS, Nev. - The Sparks Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating three people. They are Vanessa Head, a 24-year-old Sparks resident and her two children, Michael Scanlon, age 2, and Lilly Scanlon, age 10 months.

Head was last seen by family on July 7, 2012 in the 1400 block of North O'Brien Way between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Head had told family members that she was meeting her new boyfriend, whom she apparently met online.

Head and her two children were seen getting into a light grey or silver colored passenger car. The car was driven by an unidentified black man who is described as wearing a white bandana and black shorts.

Through investigation, Sparks police believe that Head may be headed to Las Vegas, Sacramento or Vallejo, California. They think Head met with the male willingly, but are concerned because Head has a cognitive disability, coupled with the young age of the children.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Head and her children is asked to contact Sparks police detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
