RENO, NV - Reno celebrates the second annual Reno Social Media Day with a scavenger hunt this Saturday, June 30 at the West Street Market in downtown Reno.

Event Organizer Michael Tragash says this day is about how social media has been an important asset in promote businesses in the area.

"The celebration is about what it's done to help put the great things about Reno and Tahoe out there."

Teams of four will be handed a list of items they need to find throughout downtown and will snap pictures of them using the popular picture app, Instagram.

Instagram is a free photo sharing app that allows users to upload their own pictures and share them with their friends.

Tragash says organizers wanted to use social media to share unique quirks of downtown Reno, and also to revamp its image.

"We wanted to combat all of the negative publicity that Reno typically receives and make a family friendly event.

Participants will meet at Se7en Teahouse at 2 p.m. and need to have completed the list by five.

The grand prize is a Samsung Galaxy Tablet for each of the four team members.
