LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Republican National Committee is giving the Nevada GOP $166,000 to boost voter registration efforts.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the RNC will provide the money and the state GOP will contract out the work to step up voter registration drives.

In May, the national party began setting up setting up separate offices with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney to coordinate efforts in Nevada after supporters of Rep. Ron Paul took control of the state party. The move suggested the RNC lacked confidence in the state party establishment.

State GOP Chairman Michael McDonald says he's been working with the RNC to try to repair the relationship.
