Mom Hid Pregnancy, Put Baby in Trash, Police Say

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say they believe the young mother of a
baby found inside a Las Vegas trash bin earlier this week didn't
tell family and friends she was pregnant and then hid the infant's
body at home.
Las Vegas officials say they haven't arrested anyone yet after a
maintenance worker found the body in the trash Wednesday at the
Rancho Mesa Apartments, near the North Las Vegas Airport.
Las Vegas police say they believe the juvenile gave birth to the
baby at home about a month ago, but it's unclear whether it was a
live birth or whether the girl was stillborn.
Authorities are still investigating.
