LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a 44-year-old Las Vegas man is being held on felony drunken driving and hit-and-run charges after his car hit and killed a Reno man crossing Boulder Highway.
Records show that David Nieto was held Wednesday at the Clark County jail pending an initial court appearance following the crash a little before 11 p.m. Tuesday near the Eastside Cannery casino-hotel.
The name of the 50-year-old victim wasn't immediately made available.
Police say he wasn't in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2004 Nissan Sentra.
He was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center.
Police say Nieto drove away after the crash, but was found and arrested a short time later.
It was the 63rd traffic related fatality in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
