LAS VEGAS (AP) - Members of several biker clubs claim in a
federal civil rights lawsuit in Nevada that they've been
systematically harassed by Las Vegas and North Las Vegas police.

Attorney Stephen Stubbs filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S.
District Court in Las Vegas on behalf of a group called the
Southern Nevada Confederation of Clubs and 78 individual
plaintiffs.

They belong to clubs including the Mongols, Stray Cats, Bandidos
and Vagos.

The lawsuit seeks almost $12 million in damages against the
police departments, Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie and 15
individual police officers.

It alleges police pressured a Las Vegas hotel and several bars
to stop them from doing business with bikers, defamed a club member who was fired from his job as a paramedic, and improperly detained another plaintiff.
