DA Clears Vegas Police Officers in 2 Slaying Cases
Posted: 8:15 PM May 7, 2012
Reporter: Associated Press

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson
says he sees no criminal fault by Las Vegas police officers in the
slayings of a knife-wielding bar robbery suspect in November 2010
and a fleeing motorist in December 2010.

Wolfson on Monday blamed robbery suspect Benjamin Bowman and
motorist Anthony Jones for refusing to follow officers' commands during the separate fatal confrontations.

The two cases bring to four the number of police slayings Wolfson has reviewed while Clark County coroner inquest hearings remain stalled by legal wrangling.

Wolfson last month cleared Nevada Highway Patrol troopers and Henderson police in the August 2010 death of a motorist during a physical confrontation on U.S. 95, and Las Vegas police in the
November 2010 shooting death of a man accused of menacing officers.
