Reporter: Associated Press

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say an 8-year-old girl and a police officer received non-life threatening gunshot wounds in a domestic disturbance that turned into a police standoff.

KLAS-TV reports that the officer was shot after police responded to a shooting at the home on Wyatt Avenue in Las Vegas late Friday night.

Police say an 8-year-old child was the shooting victim.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that both the girl and the officer were hospitalized for head wounds.

The suspected gunman remained barricaded inside the home.

Police didn't immediately respond to calls for comment early Saturday.
