LAS VEGAS (AP) - A wily Las Vegas chimp that escaped her cage and roamed the streets twice in one month has arrived at her new home in central Oregon.

CJ the chimp arrived at the Chimps Inc. sanctuary in Bend on Friday and is adjusting well, according to her new caretakers. She'll be living with a handful of other chimpanzees.

Sanctuary officials picked CJ up on Tuesday from Las Vegas magician Dirk Arthur's home, where she was being kept after her second escape Saturday.

CJ and her companion Buddy made a highly publicized break from their northwest Las Vegas neighborhood on July 12. Buddy was shot and killed by police after jumping on cars and veering toward onlookers. CJ was tranquilized.

County officials have cited one of the chimps' caretakers for the escapes.
