Gas Prices Surge Almost 10 Cents Over Past Two Weeks

CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) - The average U.S. price of a gallon of gasoline has increased by 9.5 cents over the past two weeks, the first price rise since April.
The Lundberg Survey of fuel prices on Sunday put the average price for a gallon of regular at $3.51.
Analyst Trilby Lundberg says even with the increase, the price remains 46 cents below the April 6 peak of $4.07.
Nationally, a gallon of mid-grade averages $3.66 and premium $3.78.
Jackson, Mississippi has the nation's lowest price at $3.18, while Long Island, N.Y., had the highest at $3.83.
In California, the price rose 9.8 cents per gallon to an average $3.76 for regular, $3.87 for mid-grade and $3.96 for premium.
Bakersfield had the lowest price, $3.67 for regular, and San Francisco had the highest, $3.80.
