FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - Traffic is moving again on
Interstate 405 in northern Orange County after a downed power line
forced closure of the roadway in both directions and caused several
collisions.

California Highway Patrol Officer Gabe Montoya says all
southbound lanes and all but one lane on the northbound side
reopened at about 4:30 p.m., about two hours after a power line
fell near the Magnolia Street exit in Fountain Valley.

Montoya says the downed line caused collisions on both sides of
the freeway and backed up traffic for miles. Only minor injuries
were reported.

Southern California Edison spokesman Darryl Ryan tells City News
Service that nearly 2,500 customers lost power because of the
downed line. Utility crews are trying to determine what caused the
line to fall.
