if you are a well trained member of the military and aman shows up at your house with his fists a-blazing, you should be able to stop him with your fists. NOT YOUR WEAPON. He was unarmed and he got shot and killed, but surely, that's justice and not insanity, right?!?
I truely wish the woman would speak up here. I just cannot believe that, knowing Jason, that he was as bad as he's being portrayed. He's always shown himself to be a good man in our encounters.
just because someone comes to your home to fight you. does not give you the right to shot him. what happen to this contry?
did you see in the article where is said that jason told one of HIS friends (jasons friend NOT darricks) that he was going to go over there and finish what he started, he most definitely went over there with intent to cause harm to darrick and/or his family. people need to re read that line, JASONS FRIEND CAME FORWARD AND SAID THAT HE, JASON, HAD SAID HE WAS GOING OVER THERE TO HARM HIM! hellllloooooooo do you people just read part of the article, or just the parts you want to read. Jason had done this exact thing two other times, except he was the one who cause SEVERE BODILY HARM to TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE.
I am in the military and I TOTALLY believe in the right to bear arms! But, I'm also a FIRM believer that you need to excercise that RIGHT with wisdom! IF, this Jason was only there to HELP out a friend and was provoked into the things that he did then this man had no RIGHT to shoot him. But, if in fact, he went there to provoke a fight himself then this Derek had every RIGHT to protect himself. The thing is, that no one can EVER TRUELY know those things with the exception of Jason himself. And it's not like we can ask him, now is it!?! Let's just all know that something truely horriffic has happened that will affect the lives of two families. Just to differing degrees. Why do we feel the need to try to justify something that we, as outsiders, could NEVER FULLY UNDERSTAND!!!???!!!
He is not a woman beater, he is a loving husband and father. get your facts straight. read the articles as to why he shot him. pretty sure anyone in there right mind would too. and your friend jason has a past of doing these same things. was even convicted not once BUT TWICE FOR IT. and not just getting in a fight he caused SEVERE BODILY INJURIES TO TWO PEOPLE. And he didn't face jason? he shoved himself in the door and started choking darrick. tell me you wouldn't defend your own that way especially with a six month old in the bedroom, charges were not filed for murder because it wasn't, it was self defense.
Yeah time to get over the fact thaat your friend was shot for showing up at someones house to fight, Why don't you go and grieve his loss now instead of posting insane things about people you obviously dont know. Darrick doesn't beat his wife and far from a coward, like the article shows he was just fighting for YOUR freedom less than a year ago. its not murder, its self defense, so yeah i do take that lightly.
was he also doing a "good thing" when he was convicted for basically the same thing before? do you not realize that you can look up anyones record's? he was not doing anything good and Darrick was protecting his wife and child from this trouble maker
sorry for your loss, but his past record shows he had a habit of doing this, he was the one that went there to start more fighting, ask the friend he was with, he lost his life because he was breaking the law just as he had in the past
why can you say that Darrick was a wife beater? did you know that your friend also broke out car windows and forced his way inside? that he was choking Darrick? that he has past records of doing this before? sounds as if this so called friend had a bad habit of causing trouble and Darrick had the right idea in arming himself from this man, otherwise his wife or child may have been the ones killed, just remember that your friend was not so innocent now was he??
Get over it? I'm glad you could say that so easily when Jason's family is left behind. Shows your character...murder is taken so lightly with you

I know him and what happened. He was doing a good thing. There should be more men like him in the world and less coward woman beaters like Darrick
