Apparently the BM folks who want to force their ways on the public don't like it when someone pushes back. No tolerance for diversity among them.

Maybe the organizers should look into having it on a native American reservation, they don't answer to local 'big brother' and are pretty open minded.

Why push tax revenue away? Gambling is going online, we better keep our growing tourist attractions.

I was so hoping the new rules would include NO PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES. Really, these BM folks cant fill up a few 5 gallon water bottles and reuse a single container?

ok this is an adult festival or carnival whatever u wanna call it. Of course there are some vulgarities or indecent exposures that's why children shouldn't be allow to be here. Do they have security inside the camps? Well whoever goes there they know what's going on there so it's at your own risk right specially for women. Beer Drugs and Nudity always will be there just be responsibles for your acts. have fun !!!

Since you are in denial, please be sure to leave your name and location at the volunteer station so they can send the ones that ARE "looking for the vulgar, obscene, and lewd" to your location! I agree that the MAJORITY of attendees are not looking for it. But, for crying out loud, pull your head out and get real!

Go host this drugfest down in Mexico... better yet, China or Russia. That would teach the organizers about tolerance. They should feel lucky that any state would be stupid enough to allow for a drug city to pop up with a bunch of dirty scum bags walking around the desert. 1970 is over you flower children... grow up, get jobs and add value to society. If this is all so important to you, set up a week where you 60,000 morons give back to the community via community service and giving back to the community instead of getting so stoned that you don't know if you're naked or not. A useless week of brain killing activities... DUMB!

Gee, that's real nice. Bring up a lawsuit. How very Californian.

BM left CA because of local rules. Apparently the folks in the Bay Area weren't tolerant enough. Then they moved to Washoe County until they weren't tolerant enough. Now Pershing county isn't tolerant enough. What do these people expect? Where are they going next? Apparently no amount of money buys the kind of tolerance they are seeking. Face it vulgar is vulgar in the eyes of the beholder and local values will always rule. If you do not like the rules go somewhere else.

burning man is for low lifes

Burning Man has survived lots of issues and obstacles and still thrives. I think that crying about it now will change nothing. Nudity, in the middle of a seriously hot desert at a week long event that we pay good money for, should be a non issue. Part of the nudity is due to the heat and the dirt. But all of that is neither here nor there. The police won't heavily regulate the nudity or lewdness. They are supposed to regulate the drugs as well, but they don't. I think this is just an attempt to drum up some attention to an event that is growing and growing. Like they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity. SO CHILL OUT DANG.

Another government takeover of self-expression. The tens of thousands of people that attend Burning Man are not looking for the vulgar, the obscene, or the lewdness of anything; Burning Man represents the freedom of mind, body, and soul. It is a spiritual experience, beyond any type of mortal, governing policies instituted by those who find shame in their own minds, bodies, and souls. Most of those who attend Burning Man, aren't there for the 1st time, and the Burning Man event has been covered extensively by multiple media outlets, so they 'do' know what to expect, and accept it as such. If there are people offended by the behaviors of others, they should simply not attend the event; period. These proposed 'new rules' are intrusive and unwarranted. People are still going to run naked, get arrested, and their fines will pay for the security of the event. Makes a lot of sense, not.

Move it somewhere else. Then they will not have any revenue or work to do.
