SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. -- Lyon County sheriff's officials identified the body found at the end of Jacaranda Street as that of a missing Silver Springs woman Amber Shay Jenkins.

Jenkins was last seen on Monday, July 30th. Her body was found on August 2nd but not positively identified for over a week. Her death was classified as a homicide.

Deputies made contact with Jenkins' boyfriend, 34-year-old Timothy Ray Pennington, the evening her body was found. The very next morning, Pennington's father filed a report that his son had gone missing, too.

On Wednesday, August 8th, the body of an adult male, later identified as Pennington, was found at an abandoned business on Indigo Road in Silver Springs. Investigators say it appears he shot himself.

Jenkins' one-year old daughter is with child protective services. Her grandmother would like to take her home, but because identification of Jenkins' body was delayed, the child was listed as the victim of a neglectful mother and put into child protective services. No word on when the grandmother can take her home.

The investigation is still open. If you have any information, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office asks that you all Detective Charles Beck at (775) 577-5096 or (775) 577-5023.
