I called him in Fernley of a sick cat in an abandoned house..After he finally called me back he stated he could not get there..He told me he will leave cat food for me to pick up and give to the cat until he could get there in the morning..This was at 1pm and he stated he was busy..This cat was so sick he collapsed at my feet..He was going into Reno..This house was located behind Scolari's and would have passed right by it..

i know some people who sold hay to these people and they were definately not feeding enough and that was 2 yrs ago. They had 150 horses and were only feeding 4 bails of hay per day. I went there once and there was a dead mare in a pin, when I told the woman there that they had a dead horse she came looked over the fence and said oh shes not dead, she is sad we just sold her mom! I said no she is dead the other horses are stepping on her, she said well thats normal. This place should have been shut down years ago. I know I have made complaints and they always went unattended.

When the going gets tough the "Wild Horse Advocates" go home! They are not from Nevada and we can never depend on them for help. They only support their SF lawyers. They never haul water, hay, or needy horses.

Delbert Matheus does his job...The enforcement to prosecute goes to the District Attorney's office and as anyone who lives in Lyon County know that the D.A.'s office doesn't work period....It's called "let's make a deal" here..Animals aren't a priority right Bob ??

Jeff Page lied. The reason the Lyon Couonty Sheriff's Office had to seize the horse is because Lyon County Animal Control Officer Delbert matheus Refused to go to the call. Delbert Matheus has known for years those animal were being abused and he is too lazy to do anything about it. He needs to be either fired or retired!

Where are all the wild horse nuts now?

I encourage everyone to look up the "Frontier Ranch Inc." on facebook and read the propaganda from this so called "horse rescue." This is nothing more than a scam. I also encourage people to thank the Lyon County Sheriff's Office for having the courage to stand up for the animals.

This is abuse and those responsible should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Releasing unwanted horses into the open range is not the answer either. We are in a drought and have far too many horses roaming in search of very limited food and water now. All horses need and deserve food, water, and medical care. Man domesticated the horse thousands of years ago and they now depend on us for many of their needs. I wish advocates for horses would realize these needs and follow through with supporting and controlling these unwanted animals. The horse has been a major factor in our own progress and we owe them better treatment than abuse or abandonment.

This is so sad. These poor animals. They had a better chance of survival being let go into the wild. All they had to do was call animal control and throw up some flags - and help would have come. Instead - these useless human beings used the ranch name to obtain bunches of money from people. Not a dime has gone to help these horses. This is PATHETIC!! And to hear that all they are looking at is fines!! What a joke!! I think it should be an eye for an eye for the justice on this case. Put these jerks out into the blistering sun with no food or water. Leave them cooped up with no where to go. Leave them there for months - if they survive - lucky them! These horses didn't deserve this. Hope justice will prevail in one way or another. People that treat animals like this are WORTHLESS and DESERVE nothing.

Take a look at Craigslist.org and you will know know how distressed horse owners are who no longer can care for them are trying to sell them or give them away. Horses are considered a luxury expense now-a-days. If you can't afford to feed your dog, or other pets, I don't care if your property is zone for horses, don't get them. A whole lot of expenses for proper horse care and is way more than raising cats and dogs.

This story made me cry when I saw it on the news. It broke my heart. The person or persons who did this to these beautiful animals should be PUNISHED, NOT a slap on the wrist, NOT a little FINE, but JAIL, HUGE FINE, and no longer allowed to care for ANY ANIMAL. What is WRONG with people?

Where will horses be kept. I'd love to help care for them. If close to Dayton or at Silver Springs Shelter. Send me an email and I will volunteer my time for these poor horses.
