RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Winnemucca man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on separate charges involving assault with a deadly weapon and sex trafficking of minors.
The indictments handed up May 9 in Reno allege 26-year-old Adam Scott fired multiple shots at a home on the Fort McDermitt Indian Reservation on April 27. After the shooting, the indictment alleges Adam shot one of two people who went to his home.
Another indictment charges Adam with transporting a minor from California to Nevada in 2010 for the purpose of prostitution. He's also charged with forcing another minor to engage in sex acts in August of last year.
If convicted, Adam faces up to life in prison for sex trafficking and up to 40 years on the assault charges.
