Reno, Nev. - A 55-year-old man walking in a marked crosswalk died after being struck by a car late Wednesday night, according to Reno police.
It happened near the intersection of Kietzke and Gentry at around 10:40 p.m.
What police don't know is whether or not the driver was at fault. The driver of the Toyota sedan that hit the pedestrian did stop at the scene and speak with police, apparently claiming to have a green light.
For now, police are calling the whole thing an accident, and are not arresting the driver or filing charges. The driver is described by police as a 23-year-old male resident of Reno.
Police say they don't believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
This is the third fatal pedestrian versus car accident so far this year.
Anyone with information on this accident is asked to call Reno Police at 334-2141 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
