Who says you need the ocean to go surfing? England gets a lot of rain so one group of friends decided to take to a soggy football field with their boards. They labeled the new sport "puddle winching" since it involved a gas powered winch. They say it is like water skiing but without the speed boat.

A downpour late last night in Ohio resulted in Flash flooding in at least one trailer park. Two women had to be rescued after they were trapped in their car by flood waters. In some places water was knee high but most of it receded overnight.

In Arizona a microburst knocked down a string of power poles. Often times people who experience microburst damage swear they were in a tornado, but they aren't. Microburst winds are straight while tornadoes famously twist. Workers were on the scene all night to replace the poles and wires.

An enormous string of sunspots may unleash solar flares towards earth today. NASA tracked a dark hole on the sun's surface. That hole could launch a monster solar storm, which creates the flares. The flares are not expected to cause any major damage on earth.
