60% sounds like a solid majority to me. Where is the divisiveness? I really don't care one way or the other and will abide by the vote of the people. Sounds like a state's rights issue.

Every time the voters have been asked, they have supported the traditional definition of marriage. In most cases the vote hasn't even been close. Those who are demanding that the definition of marriage be changed are creating the divisiveness--not those who simply want to maintain the definition as it has always been defined.
