Lennar Reveals Next Gen Home

RENO, NV - Job loss, failing health, even divorce these are just some of the reasons more families are deciding to share space. “The latest census shows that over 30% of Americans live in multi-generational living situations,” says Dustin Barker of Lennar Homes. In order to fill that need the homebuilder has developed what they call the “Next Gen” home which provides separation under one roof.

“The main home is just consistent with all of our other homes,” says Barker. The unique feature about this home is a private suite on one end that can be used almost like a separate apartment. The suite which is accessible through a door off the kitchen is just as suitable for elderly parents, as it would be for a college student. There's a small living space with a kitchenette that has a full refrigerator. It doesn't have a stove, but there is a microwave and room for a washer & dryer. The unit also includes a full bath and one bedroom.

“The house basically allows them to live as a family, but still have their independence by having this separate living area,” says Barker. The units are currently under construction at Verona at D’Andrea in Sparks. The floorplan encompasses a total of 2,839 square feet and is priced from the low $300,000’s.
