wow people r really bored on here this is a really sad story and not just for the man thats passed but for the other men too. i know matt personally and have known him for quite sometime and he never has been violent towards me or my children my children love him to death. he has a good heart but has a problem with knowing right from wrong. dispite what anyone says about him i will always have the opinion i have about him and will support and care about him. i will be waiting for the day he gets out and will be there for him just like i always have been since ive known him

I'm that Childs mother and I don't think Matt served enough time for burning my son. His arm is scared for life. Matt doesn't use the brains God gave him. He was always doing stupid things.
I was with matt a long time ago and i dont know what has happen to him but i am not sayin this to justifie anything but only those who were there and god know the truth yes they all should pay but know that everyone related to or close to all these guys are suffering my daughter loves matt and still ask about him he was never violent with us so whatever happen between all those guys is sad because in some way they all were wraped up in a circle that i am sure they never meant to go that far

Actually he did a year in lander county, not for burning a kid with a cigarette, but actually pouring lighter fluid on the childs arm and lighting it on fire....dumb enough to video tape it
This was a totally horrible event, with apparantly many layers of events leading up to it. I am related to Matt and absolutely am horrified. Again, much back story, but absolutely nothing justifies this. I am glad the other two were finally arrested, also, since they seem to have been the ones to get Matt into this situation but they were all involved. Derrick and John tried to get this all put on Matt and I'm glad they, too have been arrested. Bad news all around, so sorry for Mike's family. Absolutely horrible. No excuse. BTW, You people who are posting should really learn to spell. Also the phrase is, "if you can't do the time don't do the crime". The previously posted iteration makes no sense. Yes, let's all remember there are a lot of people involved in this, all families hurting, but only four people involved.
Well then they should have thought about that when they let him die like a dog.. they obviously have no regard for human life and they didn't seem to care about the consequences of their actions or their children whe they stood by and allowed this crime to happen, I'm sorry but if I see someone getting hit I'm not going to stand there and allow that to happen an not report it as it happens I would have called the cops the minute I saw a person throwing punches.. obviously there is either no grain of intelligence in their brains or they just don't care and No they will not get sympathy.. if they were good fathers then they should have known better than to stand there and do nothing.. so now they will have to be punished and Mike was not just a dad he was a son a brother and uncle think about what his family has to go through because of these inconsiderate selfish young punks.. yes I said it again they are PUNKS!! And I hope the they stay in jail FOREVER!

These three punks should be in prison for life and never let out. I used to date matt and thank god i got out of it before this. U was a very angry man he needed anger management and i remember when he burned a kid with a cigarette and he just got out of jail but i hope this time he dont he is dangerous to the community
