Reno's a dump hole, who would come to this waste management site to drink and party when it's thirty minutes from Truckee and Donner with decent laws and no bums?

With extra revenue comes extra taxes, so clean up, security, etc. are paid. If you don't like drinking and gambling then Nevada isn't a place for you. I, personally am non-drinking and non-gambling, but Nevada would be nothing without it. So be tollerant, or move.

every time you buy something like a drink, or spend money at a casino, you are already paying a part of the taxes to law enforcement, so everyone is already paying the decided upon extra. nevada is great at killing small biz. its the most difficult state in the usa for small biz to make it

These crawls create 10's of thousands of dollars or revenue for businesses, which pay taxes on that. The extra stress on 'services' should be easily covered by the extra tax income from the money spent by the crawlers. Attempts to steal more money (and taxes are just that, theft straight up) is reprehensible.

Who should pay to clean up all the trash and mess the Pub Crawlers leave all over the streets and sidewalks? Who should pay for the extra law enforecment needed to control the drunk trouble makers? I think these extra costs should be paid by the people making the mess and the drunks involved in the fights and brawls and by the businesses responsible for promoting the pub crawls that bring this kind of unrully crowd to downtown.

I don't think the Reno city council really understands how taxes work...

Lets see, went to Reno, got a room, blew a hundred bucks on dinner, played a little blackjack, went out drinking, stumbled back to the room, had breakfast at the hotel the next morning. Isn't this a charitable event? The city wants to take money from the charities? If you need money for extras, get it from the hotels and casinos. They are the ones making a profit. Maybe I should just stay in Sparks for my nights out.

So can we say that the Wine Walk and all other little get togethers over 75 people will be needing permits as well? These do help the downtown business area, as well as donate to our schools. This will kill them off and destroy something else that brought me downtown. They won't be happy till its a ghost town down there...

Let me get this right. If we all stayed home it would save the city money? What are we paying the city for now? I have never been to a "crawl" but I do attend many other events and expect our city officials to support all that obey the law. Where is the money collected by RSCVA? Why have a tourist industry if we are not going to support it?

I can kinda see where they are coming from, it takes more man hours and personnel to clean up the mess and provide police presence. I'm not seing an issue with that. Why not split the tab throughout the participating bars and casinos since they're the ones making the money off the crawls.

Although nothing is ever simple or without a cost have all the people arrested for public urination or drunk and disorderly during these events handle the cleanup for the next one. Community service opportunities need to be explored.

So, let me get this straight. The downtown area is complaining that businesses have banded together to raise money for good causes AND bring "10 thousand" people into the city!? Just like the council to get their hands in the cookie jar and ruin a good thing. I have been on a crawl or 2 and have noticed new businesses that would have otherwise been non existant to me and perhaps some of the other crawlers. City council stay out of our crawls!!

Permit costs for one, permit costs for all. I pay enough to deal with drunks in Reno-Sparks as it is.

The Easter bunny and I are taking our pubs to Las Vegas. They seem to enjoy the additional revenue my friends bring. If the city is worried about clean up costs, just hire a few of the many Reno homeless. They would probably help clean up if they got to keep the cans and bottles.
