Prosecutors Wrapping Up, Defense Could Start Monday in Sandusky Trial

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky will soon get the chance to give jurors his side of the story in his trial on child sexual abuse charges.
Prosecutors are close to wrapping up their case, so defense witnesses could begin testifying as early as Monday.
The 20 prosecution witnesses include eight young men who say the former Penn State assistant sexually abused them as children.
Sandusky's defense strategy so far includes showing how the stories of accusers changed over time, suggestions they're hoping for a civil lawsuit jackpot and a portrayal of Sandusky as a misunderstood person who's spent a lifetime helping kids.
It's unclear whether he'll take the stand himself to refute charges he abused 10 boys over 15 years. He's facing 52 counts.
