PLACERVILLE, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California couple charged with kidnapping Jaycee Dugard and holding her captive for 18 years have temporarily lost the right to talk to each other on the telephone.
Jail officials say they believe Phillip and Nancy Garrido may have been using the calls to coordinate their testimony.
El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Douglas Phimister suspended the monthly, 5-minute phone conversations during a hearing Thursday.
County Counsel Edward Knapp says he does not have details on what the couple may have discussed. The judge instructed Knapp to
submit written evidence next week for discontinuing the calls permanently.

my opinion is they (Garridos) should have no contact w/anyone of the human race. They are sick people. lock'em up & throw the key away, never to be found.
Jail officials said they 'made believe using phone to coordinate testimony.' Well, duhhhhh, what was your first clue idiots. They shouldn't have been all along to start with. You sure there's no conjugal visits yet?
Really! The people that let them make calls to each other didn't see this coming. Coordinating testimony.........criminals would never do that.
