RENO, NV - Jaycee Dugard's first-hand encounter of what she endured at the hands of Phillip and Nancy Garrido hit bookstores Tuesday morning. And that memoir is almost sold out all across Reno.
Borders book store on South Virginia sold all of its 30 copies in just over two hours. A lot of people showed up early just to make sure they got one.
Some families even bought multiple copies of the book for friends.
Donna Fletcher was lucky enough to grab the last book at Borders before another book quickly replaced where Jaycee's had been on store shelves.
"I just want to see what it's like from her point of view living with those people for all those years," says Donna Fletcher, who came all the way from Carson City to buy her book.
"They said they were selling fast, so I wanted to make sure that I got a copy," says Carmen Castro, who bought two books at Borders.
Sundance Books and Music in downtown Reno still had about a dozen copies left around 6:30 Tuesday evening, but it's the only place in town that's still selling it.
