HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) - Police say they have questioned the
California couple convicted of kidnapping Jaycee Dugard about the
1988 disappearance of a 9-year-old girl in Hayward.

Hayward police Sgt. Corey Quinn says Nancy and Phillip Garrido both denied any involvement in the case of Michaela Garecht, who was abducted from a Hayward grocery store's parking lot.

The Oakland Tribune (http://bit.ly/osjgoG) reported Wednesday that Hayward police investigators spent more than two hours with Phillip and Nancy Garrido.

Phillip Garrido was sentenced to 431 years to life in prison this year for abducting Dugard in 1991 and holding her captive for 18 years. Nancy Garrido was sentenced to 36 years to life in prison.

Who can believe those two? I remember seeing a police drawing years ago of the man who kidnapped that girl in Hayward. He looked a lot like Philip did back then and he did live in the area then too. Maybe he did it without Nancy's help and that poor little girl was killed.
