As the weather gets chillier many local businesses are banking on out-of-towners to bring in the big bucks. Now, a new advertisement campaign is underway that targets winter sports lovers in nearby states.
Memories of the Sierra slopes, adventuring through the fresh powder with family or just plain old, playing in the snow…Those are the memories the Nevada Commission on Tourism is hoping people will remember this winter season.
“Every ski resort has its own vibe and Lake Tahoe has its own vibe and people need to understand it’s a beautiful place to come to,” says Todd Fishbaugher who works at the tourism commission.
The advertisements will get heavy air-play in nearby cities including San Francisco, Phoenix and Salt Lake City. The tourism commission says the last two ad campaigns attracted a lot of visitors and generated more than 100 million dollars in tax revenue for our state.
