Crews fighting brush fire near Boomtown and I-80

There are no reports of structures being threatened and flames have been moving slowly, according to radio traffic.


A burn ban is now in effect in and around the greater Lake Tahoe Truckee area until it gets significant moisture in the form of rain or snow.


The California Highway Patrol is watching traffic along Highway 395 in Mono County, where a 654-acre brush fire is 46% contained as of Monday afternoon.



Daytime highs should be in the low 100s each day this week. Winds will pick up in the afternoon with gusts 20-25 mph. We'll remain mostly sunny and hot through the holiday weekend.
