SPARKS, NV - Homes in Sparks were evacuated early Thursday morning after a car crashed into a home, triggering a gas leak.
Around 2.30am, Sparks police say a car sheared off a gas main at the intersection of Ephedra and Desert Peach and then crashed into the side of a home.
The driver ran away from the scene, but was later arrested.
Sparks fire department arrived on scene within 4 minutes and a ladder truck kept the gas contained leak contained by spraying water onto the gas main.
Residents of 6 homes where evacuated while the situation was contained.
NV Energy worked to shut off the gas so residents could return home.
