LAKE TAHOE - Even though Summer still has a firm grip on the Sierra, Winter is just around the corner and there are deals to be had for those getting ready for the slopes.

Labor Day Weekend is the traditional time for tent and clearance sales, and just about every Tahoe resort is planning something, but there are also opportunities for those looking for Lift Ticket deals.

Recently Squaw and Alpine announced their Mountain Collective Pass, offering a pair of tickets to a group of resorts for one low price, and Vail Resorts is offering a season pass good at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood as well as some Colorado resorts.

But the "deal" many Reno residents pounce on is the Mt. Rose September Sale. For one month only an Unlimited Season Pass for adults is $299, with no blackout dates and discount perks both at the resort and other locations. This deal is available through Mt. Rose or during Labor Day Weekend at the Bobo's Annual In-Tents Sale.

Remember when looking at season passes keep in mind resorts offer both unlimited ones and those with blackout dates.

Limited passes can save you hundreds of dollars, but that will mean you can't use them during holiday weekends or other busy periods, so read the fine print to see which one works best for you.

Savvy Shoppers know this is the time of year to look for deals on both equipment and passes so "think snow" and we'll see you on the mountain this winter!
