The City Manager tells us the increased demand is simply from existing customers using more water. The region has been under drought conditions for the last few years, but that means people only use more water, especially for landscaping.

The Nevada Department of Agriculture is holding a meeting in Reno Tuesday tonight to discuss Mormon crickets and what the state is doing about them.
Updated: 02/21/2005 - The credit company ChoicePoint is now admitting people in all 50 states may have had their identities compromised, including people here in Nevada. Nevada's Attorney General says the letter he wrote, along with other attorneys general from across the nation, convinced ChoicePoint credit company to release the numbers of victims affected by its mistake.
Updated: 02/17/2005 - The Nevada Army Guard's Chinook Helicopter Unit is finishing it's training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The unit of more than two hundred soldiers from three states and 12 CH-47 heavy lift helicopters will be deploying to Afghanistan next month. It's expected they will be there for at least one year. News Channel 8's John Tyson flew with the unit at Fort Sill last week.
