Posted: 3:50 PM The search for a missing Davis Creek man has been suspended. Washoe County sheriff's deputies were out again today looking for 51 year-old Steven Scott Waldron, but have not been able to find anything.

A cold air mass that originated in Alaska has an icy grip on most of northern Nevada and the Sierra this morning. The temperature dropped as low as 13-below zero this morning in Eureka. Winnemucca reported minus four just before dawn and Elko minus one.
Posted: 10:25 AM Two hostages got out safely and a suicidal suspect is in custody after a six-hour stand-off with police in Sparks. Police used tear gas and a Taser gun to subdue the suspected parole violator in the stand-off that started about four o'clock yesterday afternoon and forced the evacuation of six neighboring apartments.
Updated: 5:33 PM A woman has been shot in the shoulder around 395 and Moana. She has been transported to a Renown Regional Medical Center but her wounds are non-life threatening. Police do have a suspect in custody.

Motorists who have to cross the Sierra will have to chain up for a second straight day. A storm that didn't drop a large amount of snow left enough behind that chains are mandatory on Interstate 80 over Donner Summit from Boca to Rainbow and on U-S 50 over Echo Summit from four miles east of the junction with California 89 to Kyburz.
