Zumba Party Benefits Women, Children

RENO, NV - It's time to have fun exercising while helping women and children.

The Junior League of Reno is hosting its first "Healthy for All" Zumba Party on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the South Reno Athletic Club.

Officials say those participating will move to the blend of upbeat world rhythms with easy-to-follow choreography, while dancing to music provided by DJ Zorro.

Guests can enter to win health and wellness-related raffle prizes such as gym memberships, skin care products, and much more, as well as take home free goodies that include towels, water bottles, and nutrition bars, according to an official with Junior League of Reno.

Officials say proceeds will directly impact the League’s “Healthy for All” projects in the community. As part of the campaign, the Junior League of Reno educates, advocates and provides programming in three focus areas that directly help local women and children: nutrition education to prevent childhood obesity, accessible resources for all abilities and advocacy against sex trafficking in Nevada.

Tickets are $25 in advance and cost $35 at the door.
