Wrongful Death Suit Filed in AMTRAK Train Accident

RENO, NV - A wrongful death suit has been filed in the June 24 fatal accident involving an AMTRAK train and a tractor trailer rig.

The suit was filed on behalf of Bill Knox, a Nebraska grandfather who lost his wife and granddaughter when the truck slammed into the train at a US 95 crossing north of Fallon.

The suit charges negligence on the part of the driver, Lawrence Valli, and his employer, John Davis Trucking of Battle Mountain.

Francis Knox and 18 year old Karly Anne Knox, known as "Annie", were riding in the passenger car behind the one hit by the truck. Their car caught fire following the collision.

Annie Knox, who survived childhood cancer, and four siblings were adopted and raised by her grandparents.

""Not only did Bill lose his wife of 31 years," says his Reno attorney Bill Bradley. "He lost his oldest daughtyer who was helping raise these four younger minor children."

A 16 year old relative who was traveling with the two women survived the accident.
