RENO, NV - A Reno woman is charged with attempted murder, accused of trying to kill her husband because he was looking at a book about unconventional sex.
Washoe County Deputy Armando Avina tells KOLO 8 News Now Anita English's husband picked her up from a Reno casino late Sunday night because she had been drinking. Avina says Mrs. English was intoxicated.
He says the couple started arguing because she didn't like the book he was reading. When they got home, deputies say English grabbed a rifle and tried to shoot her husband, but it didn't go off. So she got a handgun and fired at him as he drove away.
He is not hurt, and he called 911 from a nearby gas station.
The attempted murder charges English is facing are enhanced, because her husband is considered elderly at 69 years old. Mrs. English is the same age.
