Spring Peak Fire Fully Contained

BRIDGEPORT, CA - Firefighters report the Spring Peak fire burning along the California-Nevada border between Walker Lake and Mono Lake is fully contained. The estimated size of the fire remains 14,230 acres.

Sunday, August 25th, the Sierra Front Incident Management Team transitioned the fire management back to Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest officials. Firefighters are focusing on line construction, mop-up, and keeping watch on the islands of un-burned terrain inside the fire lines

Two injuries have been reported, although Sierra Front hasn't noted how significant the injuries are.

Lightning started the fire August 17th.
