Clear Creek Fire 100% Contained

CARSON CITY, NV - The Clear Creek wildfire near the southern edge of Carson City is 100% contained, according to Sierra Front, a day earlier than projected.

The fire was started by a lightning strike Wednesday night and burned about 187 acres, downgraded from the earlier estimate of 300 acres.

Voluntary evacuations were in effect the first two days of the fire, and some roads were closed..

The fire burned in the Clear Creek area near the Target shopping center, along Highway 50 West toward Tahoe from Carson.
