Wild Island Family Adventure Park had its opening day in Sparks and the weather couldn't have been better.
A lot of families came out to Wild Island on Saturday to soak up the sun and ride the waves. With temperatures in the 80's, it was just what the park needed.
"I think it's really nice. It's warm and it's like the perfect day to be out," said Zeke Brooke, an 11-year-old who was visiting the park with his brother .
The big question on a lot of people's minds was when the new Zulu Slide is going to open. Construction was supposed to have been completed by now, but there was a delay in the shipment of steel. Now, the park is thinking that the slide will open in early June.
For now, Wild Island is only open on weekends and holidays until schools get out for summer. Next weekend, officials there are expecting a large crowd for the Memorial Day Weekend.
