RENO, Nev. (AP) - Two of Harvey Whittemore's long-time associates testified at his federal trial on charges of making illegal campaign contributions that the former Nevada developer and lobbyist is well known for his generosity and high integrity.

State Assemblyman Iran Hansen testified Friday that he and Whittemore rarely were on the same side of issues when Hansen lobbied the state legislature as a citizen for more than two decades.

But the Sparks Republican said Whittemore was considered the most prominent and successful lobbyist in Nevada because he was "a man of high integrity and people respected his opinion."

Western Nevada Supply owner Rick Reviglio said Whittemore had the highest integrity and ethical standards of anyone he's ever been associated with. He said he's also one of the most generous men he's ever met.
