Weather Shuts Burning Man Until Tuesday

GERLACH, NV - Rain and mud on the playa have led to the closure of Burning Man until at least midday Tuesday. Anyone already in is okay to stay, but is being asked not to leave because of muddy conditions.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says access to Highway 447 headed into the Black Rock Desert area is closed because of heavy traffic backups.

Some burners are being directed to Pyramid Lake to camp along beaches Monday night. Also, some Reno hotel properties are offering one-night specials:
