INCLINE VILLAGE, NV - One of the three Washoe Sheriff's Office patrol boats sank in Lake Tahoe Monday afternoon.

Marine 9 is a 24-foot boat that was moored near the Hyatt in Incline Village. It sank while tethered with no one on it, but the reason for the sinking hasn't been determined.

The WCSO is looking at it to see if it can be repaired or will need to be replaced. It is insured.

The county uses boats for patrol and search and rescue at Tahoe, Pyramid and other area bodies of water.
