Washoe Sheriff Haley Announces He Won't Run for Third Term

RENO, NV - Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley announced Thursday he will not run for a third term.

He is wrapping up his second term, having first been elected in 2006. He did not give a specific reason for stepping down.

He has been with the department since 1980, moving up the ranks over the years. Before working for Washoe County, he served in the United States Army and worked for the Kirksville, Missouri Police Department.

There is no word regarding who might run to replace Haley.
