Washoe School District Launches New Website

RENO, NV - The Washoe County School District has launched what it says is a new, more efficient website that provides features for families, students, and community members that make it easier to find information about the district’s programs, resources, and schools. The link is found to the right of this story.

“This site represents a new, more effective way for us to communicate important information with our families and our community,” said Ed Grassia, chief information officer for WCSD. “Parents, students, and members of the community can easily navigate this system to find accurate information quickly. We have worked closely with our community and staff to make the site user-friendly, and we are eager for everyone to visit the site and learn more about our district programs, schools, and resources.”

“This site is an important part of our district’s continuing commitment to transparency with our families and our community,” said Superintendent Pedro Martinez. “It will allow our schools to communicate more effectively through standardized sites that are easier to maintain and update, so our families will enjoy being able to find information more easily. This is a great improvement, and I’m thankful to the IT staff members for all of their hard work to this project.”

The district says the new site contains the same content in a more organized, easier-to-navigate format, and is another step toward the district’s goal of providing more accessible information, ensuring the community, students, and families have a greater knowledge about the district and the programs and resources it offers.
