WR Brandon Wimberly Granted Extra Year by NCAA

RENO, Nev. - KOLO TV has confirmed that Brandon Wimberly has been given an extra year of eligibility.

Wimberly petitioned for a medical hardship, which was granted after a review by the NCAA. He was shot in the stomach in June of 2011. It was initially feared that he would never play again. He missed all of that season while recovering.

Wimberly made a triumphant return to the field last season. He led the team with 70 receptions for 845 yards and four touchdowns, being named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team.
