RENO, NV - Washoe County School District police are investigating the case of an inoperable BB gun taken to school by a six-year-old boy Wednesday.

District spokeswoman Vickie Campbell says the Peavine Elementary kindergartener is reported to have threatened another child in a classroom, and after school, the BB pistol was found in his backpack.

No one is hurt and the weapon wasn't fired.

Police are working with the child's family and disciplinary action hasn't been decided by the school. It's not clear where the child got the gun.

The incident was reported to school police Thursday morning.
