RENO, Nev. -- Nevada Highway Patrol has identified 24-year-old Carson City resident Kyle Banko as the man who died in a motorcycle accident on Geiger Grade Saturday.
The crash happened just before 2pm on Geiger Grade (SR 341) below the lookout. Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Edgell tells KOLO 8 News Now the motorcycle was heading downhill and tried to pass a car by crossing the double-yellow center line. The bike ended up side-swiping the car.
Emergency personnel took the rider, a 24-year-old Carson City man, to the hospital by helicopter. He later died. No one in the car, including a three-month-old baby and a four-year-old child, was hurt. It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor.
