INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) - Visitors to Lake Tahoe soaking up the view of the sparkling azure waters will get a close-up look beneath the surface in a new 3D movie being produced by the Tahoe Environmental Research Center.

Kokanee salmon swimming, algae growing and a bluegill fish satisfying its hunger are just some of the underwater stars of the upcoming show, "Let's Go Jump in the Lake."

By informing viewers of the ecology and physics of Lake Tahoe, the film aims to educate the public on the actions needed to protect it.

Heather Segale, outreach director for the center affiliated with UC Davis, told the Sierra Sun that the more people understand about the threats to Tahoe, the more they will care about its future.
