LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas visit by conservative U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is drawing criticism from a liberal activist who promises demonstrations to mark the events.

Scalia is scheduled Wednesday to go to a Las Vegas Roman Catholic church for a ceremony seeking divine guidance for legal professionals and to a Las Vegas Strip casino reception afterward.

Scalia also is scheduled Wednesday to speak to law students and faculty at the Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Activist Linda Overbey says protests will be focused on Scalia's planned attendance at a Red Mass liturgy and a reception following the service hosted by the conservative St. Thomas More Society of Nevada at the Palazzo resort. The property is owned by Las Vegas Sands Corp. and its chief, Sheldon Adelson.
